About Us

CHI CHI CHI of CHI ETA PHI Sorority, INCORPORATED is a nursing sorority chartered in Memphis, TN on July 16, 2016, by 17 professional nursing leaders. CHI ETA PHI Sorority, Incorporated was founded in 1932 at Freedman's Hospital in Washington, DC. The motto for the organization, "Service for Humanity" mirrors the sentiment of each of the 17 charter members in Memphis. Our mission is the encouragement of the pursuit of continuing education, recruitment programs for health careers, stimulation of close and friendly relationships among members, development of working relationships among other professional groups, and identification of core nursing leaders who affect social changes at the regional, national, and local levels.

Artangela Henry, DNP, AGACNP-BC, FNP-C, CLSSYB
 

Dr. Artangela Henry is a board-certified nurse practitioner with certifications in Adult Gerontology, Acute Care and Family Practice. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and later pursued a career in nursing and obtained a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Her desire for healthcare development, patient education, treatment of complex disease processes and improved patient outcomes led her to obtain a master’s degree with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice with a concentration in Adult Gerontology-Acute Care, both from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

 

She has clinical experience in internal medicine, acute care services and underserved outpatient population centers. Her focus is preventative care, management, and research of sickle cell disease in the adult population. Dr. Henry has over fifteen years of experience in the healthcare field with the most recent years being devoted to understanding and educating on the natural history of sickle cell disease and involvement as co-investigator in clinical research.  She is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

Dr. Henry provides career coaching and consultation services to individuals, healthcare institutions, organizations of higher learning, community-based organizations and non-profit organizations on various healthcare topics through Crown Vision Consulting, a service she founded to evoke positive impact to the healthcare community. She is available for speaker programs, educational webinars and healthcare career coaching upon request.

Vice-President

 Porshia Mahoro, DNP, FNP-C

Dr. Porshia Mahoro is an advanced family nurse practitioner at Primary Care Specialists of Regional One Health. She received her doctorate as well as her master’s in nursing from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

She has a wealth of professional nursing experience, having started her nursing career in 2012, and her advanced practice career in 2017. In those years, Mahoro has worked with her fellow health care professionals to provide holistic, evidence-based care to children and adults at Methodist University Cancer Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Hope Primary Care, CVS Minute Clinic, and now Regional One Health.

She has helped a variety of patients with diagnosis and treatment, education, health counseling, management of chronic and acute conditions and more. Along with her hands-on experience, Mahoro has earned numerous academic accolades.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Jean, daughter Ayva, and fur baby Sasha, cooking, traveling, and volunteering. She is a proud member and serves as Vice President of the Chi Chi Chi Chapter, Inc. of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., and the Junior League of Memphis.
